Gynaecologist for Nikol — Cosmic Women’s Hospital, Naroda

For women in Nikol, Cosmic Women’s Hospital is at the Naroda end of the Naroda–Nikol road. This page sets out which OPD session to book, what a consultation and a scan cost, and what can be finished in a single visit.

Coming to Naroda from Nikol

Nikol and Naroda sit next to each other on the eastern side of Ahmedabad, joined by the Naroda–Nikol road. Cosmic Women’s Hospital & IVF Center is at the Naroda end of it: 3rd Floor, The Capital Corporate, near Naroda Muktidham, Naroda, Ahmedabad 382330.

The OPD runs Monday to Saturday, 10:00 am to 8:00 pm. There is no Sunday OPD; emergency obstetric cover runs 24 hours. Appointments are taken on 77-9383-9383, and walk-ins are seen in the order they arrive, so an appointment mostly buys you a shorter wait rather than a different doctor.

Most of what a woman comes to a gynaecologist for is available here in one building — consultation, ultrasound, laboratory samples, day-care procedures, surgery, delivery and the IVF unit. That matters more than the road: it is the reason a visit from Nikol does not usually have to be repeated three times in three different places.

Which session to book

Two consultants hold OPD here, and they divide the work by sub-specialty, not by seniority. Both see general gynaecology in every session, so if you simply need to be seen, come to whichever session suits your day. If you already know what the problem is, the table below will get you to the right person the first time.

Consultant OPD sessions (Mon–Sat) What that session covers
Dr. Bhargavi Khatri
MBBS, MS Obgy (Gold Medalist), FRM
1:00 pm – 4:30 pm
6:00 pm – 8:00 pm
Infertility, IUI, IVF and ICSI; antenatal care; deliveries and caesarean sections; D&C and other day-care procedures; general gynaecology; ultrasound
Dr. Rahul Khatri
MBBS, MS & DNB Obgy, FMAS
10:00 am – 1:00 pm
5:00 pm – 8:00 pm
Laparoscopic and hysteroscopic surgery; fibroids, endometriosis and ovarian cysts; high-risk pregnancy; general gynaecology; ultrasound

A female attendant stays with the patient throughout the consultation and any examination or scan. If you would rather be seen by a woman doctor, the afternoon and evening sessions are Dr. Bhargavi Khatri’s — that is covered in more detail on seeing a female gynaecologist in Ahmedabad. If this is your first gynaecology appointment at all, what happens at a first visit goes through it step by step.

What can be finished in one visit

People travelling in from Nikol usually want to know whether they can get everything done today. Most of it, yes. The exceptions are not queues or paperwork — they are tests that only give a usable answer on a particular day of the menstrual cycle, and no amount of planning moves them.

PLANNING THE TRIPWhat finishes today — and what waits for the right dayFinished in the same visitConsultation and examinationPelvic or obstetric ultrasound, in-houseBlood samples and urine testsPap smear, where it is dueSemen analysis, in our own laboratoryA written plan and the next dateWaits for a particular day of the cycleDay 2Baseline hormone blood testsDay 9Follicle tracking scans beginAfterHSG, once bleeding has stoppedThese are not delays in the hospital.A hormone level read on the wrong dayis a number that cannot be interpreted.
Most of a gynaecology work-up is completed in the visit itself. A small number of tests are tied to the menstrual cycle and are booked for the right day rather than the earliest one.

If you are coming for infertility, bring your husband to the same visit where you can. Semen analysis is done in our own laboratory, so the male side of the assessment can be finished on the same day as yours instead of becoming a second trip.

What a visit costs

Consultation and scan charges are fixed and are the same for everyone. They are set out here so that the cost of coming is known before you leave home.

Consultation Fee On Wednesday
New case, general gynaecology Rs 500 First consultation free
New case, infertility Rs 1,000 First consultation free
Follow-up Rs 300 Charged as usual
Ultrasound Fee
Pelvic (gynaecological) ultrasound Rs 1,200
Obstetric ultrasound Rs 1,200
Colour Doppler Rs 1,500

Laboratory tests, day-care procedures, surgery and IVF are quoted individually. Nothing is started before the cost of it has been explained and agreed.

What is done here, and what we send you elsewhere for

A local page is only useful if it is honest about the edges of what one hospital does. Cosmic is a registered Level 2 ART clinic under the ART (Regulation) Act, 2021, with an operation theatre, a labour room and 24-hour emergency obstetric cover. Two things it does not do are listed below, plainly.

Procedure Where it happens
Laparoscopic and hysteroscopic gynaecological surgery In-house
Hysteroscopic removal of fibroids up to 3 cm In-house
Uterine artery embolisation for fibroids Referred out to an interventional radiology unit
Robot-assisted gynaecological surgery There is no surgical robot at Cosmic. Dr. Rahul Khatri performs robotic surgery at Apollo Hospital, Gandhinagar
IVF, ICSI, IUI, embryo freezing, genetic screening (PGT) In-house
Surgical sperm retrieval, including micro-TESE In-house
Deliveries, caesarean sections, 24-hour emergency obstetric cover In-house

What women from this side of the city most often come in with

Heavy or prolonged periods

This is the single most common reason women postpone a gynaecology visit, and the one where postponing costs the most. The National Family Health Survey found 57% of Indian women aged 15–49 anaemic — up from 53% five years earlier — so in this population a heavy period is rarely just inconvenient. Most causes are treatable in the OPD. NICE guidance puts the referral threshold for fibroid-related heavy bleeding at 3 cm, and below that a hormonal intrauterine system is usually tried first; fibroid treatment covers what follows if the fibroid is larger.

Irregular cycles and PCOS

Irregular periods, weight gain and difficulty conceiving often arrive together, and they respond well to being addressed early rather than after years of waiting. PCOS and fertility sets out what is actually assessed and what treatment looks like.

Pregnancy, routine and high-risk

Antenatal care, scanning and delivery are all under one roof, which matters most when a pregnancy turns out to need closer watching — previous caesarean, twins, diabetes, raised blood pressure or a growth concern. High-risk pregnancy care explains how those pregnancies are monitored here.

When to come today, and when to come now

Not everything needs an appointment next week, and not everything can wait for one. The three lanes below are the ones we use on the phone.

HOW SOONBook it, come this week, or come nowBook an OPD sessionIrregular periods, discharge, contraception advice, a routine check-up, fertility adviceCome to any OPD session this weekBleeding heavy enough to soak through, a breast lump, a positive test with pain, unprotected sexCome now — emergency cover runs 24 hoursBleeding in pregnancy, severe abdominal pain, waters leaking, reduced fetal movements,or fits, severe headache or blurred vision in later pregnancy
Three lanes, not one queue. The bottom lane does not wait for OPD hours; ring 77-9383-9383 and come in.

Ultrasound at Cosmic

Pelvic, obstetric and colour Doppler scans are done in-house, by the consultants themselves, so a scan and the conversation about what it shows happen in the same visit rather than a week apart.

At Cosmic

Nikol patients are seen in the same OPD as everyone else — Monday to Saturday, 10:00 am to 8:00 pm, at The Capital Corporate near Naroda Muktidham. A female attendant is present throughout. Consultation, ultrasound, laboratory work, theatre, labour room and the IVF unit are in one building, so a single trip usually ends with a diagnosis and a plan rather than a list of other places to go. To book, ring 77-9383-9383. For the full picture of the service, see gynaecologist in Naroda.
