Kubernagar sits inside the area this hospital serves. Cosmic Women’s Hospital & IVF Center is in Naroda, along the Naroda road, and a good many of the women in our outpatient department every week come from Kubernagar, Bapunagar, Nikol and the societies between them.

This page sets out plainly what is available here, who you would see, what it costs, and when we are open — so that a woman deciding where to go knows what she is coming to before she leaves home.

Everything in one building

The single practical thing that matters most is not a list of procedures. It is that the consultation, the scan, the samples, the theatre, the labour room and the IVF unit are all in the same building. A scan advised at your consultation is done the same day, in the same visit, rather than becoming a second trip to a separate centre and a report collected a day later.

The full list of what is done here

Area What that covers
Laparoscopic and hysteroscopic surgery Fibroids, ovarian cysts, endometriosis, adhesions, ectopic pregnancy, tubal surgery, diagnostic and operative hysteroscopy, and hysterectomy. Hysteroscopic myomectomy is done here up to a 3 cm fibroid
Pregnancy, routine and high-risk Antenatal care from booking to delivery, growth scans and colour Doppler, and closer watching where there is a previous caesarean, twins, diabetes, raised blood pressure or a growth concern
Delivery and caesarean section Labour room and operation theatre in the same building, obstetric cover round the clock, and a ward for the stay afterwards
Infertility Both partners assessed in the same visit, follicular monitoring, tubal testing, ovulation induction and IUI. Semen analysis is done in our own laboratory and reported the same day
IVF and ICSI A registered Level 2 ART clinic with its own embryology laboratory — IVF, ICSI, surgical sperm retrieval including micro-TESE, embryo freezing and genetic testing of embryos. Dr. Bhargavi Khatri performs the ovum pick-ups and the transfers herself

Who you would see

Two consultants hold the outpatient department, and who you see depends on what you are coming for rather than on who happens to be free. Both see general gynaecology in every session.

Consultant OPD sessions (Mon–Sat) Takes
Dr. Bhargavi Khatri
MBBS, MS Obgy (Gold Medalist), FRM
1:00 pm – 4:30 pm
6:00 pm – 8:00 pm
Fertility, IUI, IVF and ICSI; antenatal care; caesarean sections, normal deliveries and D&C; ultrasound; general gynaecology
Dr. Rahul Khatri

5:00 pm – 8:00 pm
Laparoscopic and hysteroscopic surgery; fibroids, cysts, endometriosis and adhesions; high-risk pregnancy; ultrasound; general gynaecology

A female attendant stays with the patient throughout the consultation, the examination and any scan. If you would rather be seen and operated on by a woman doctor, the afternoon and evening sessions are Dr. Bhargavi Khatri’s — set out in full on our page for women looking for a female gynaecologist in Ahmedabad. If this is your first gynaecology appointment, or your first in years, what happens at a first visit goes through the appointment step by step.

When we are open

WHEN WE ARE OPENOPD six days a week. Emergencies, all seven.Outpatient department, 10 am to 8 pmMon10 – 8Tue10 – 8Wed10 – 8Thu10 – 8Fri10 – 8Sat10 – 8SunclosedObstetric emergency cover, 24 hoursEvery day, including Sunday and through the nightWednesday is the day the first consultation is not charged. Sunday has no OPD — but a booked patient in labour, or bleeding, is seen at any hour.
Walk-in registration is accepted. Telephoning first mostly buys you a shorter wait and the doctor you want, rather than a different service.

What women from Kubernagar most often come in with

Heavy or prolonged periods

This is the commonest reason a woman postpones a gynaecology visit, and the one where postponing costs most. NFHS-5 found 57% of Indian women aged 15 to 49 anaemic, up from 53% in the round before it — so a heavy period in this population is rarely just inconvenient. Most causes are treatable in the outpatient department without surgery. NICE guidance treats a hormonal intrauterine system as a reasonable first treatment where fibroids are under 3 cm and are not distorting the cavity, and recommends specialist referral at 3 cm or above; fibroid treatment covers what follows if the fibroid is larger.

Irregular cycles and PCOS

Irregular periods, weight gain and difficulty conceiving often arrive together, and they respond far better to being addressed early than after years of waiting. PCOS and fertility sets out what is actually assessed and what treatment looks like.

Pregnancy, routine and high-risk

Antenatal care, scanning, delivery and caesarean section are all here, which matters most when a pregnancy turns out to need closer watching — a previous caesarean, twins, diabetes, raised blood pressure or a growth concern. None of those means something has gone wrong; they mean the pregnancy is watched more closely. See high-risk pregnancy care.

Delayed conception

The hospital is a registered Level 2 ART clinic under the Assisted Reproductive Technology (Regulation) Act, 2021, so IUI, IVF and ICSI are carried out here with an embryology laboratory on the premises. Both partners are assessed at the same visit — there is no point investigating one half of a couple — and the semen analysis is done in our own laboratory and reported the same day. Before you assume IVF is the answer, do you actually need IVF sets out the situations where the honest answer is no.

What is not done here

A service-area page is only useful if it is honest about its edges, so these two are stated plainly rather than quietly omitted.

Procedure Where
Uterine artery embolisation for fibroids Referred out to an interventional radiology unit — not performed here
Robot-assisted gynaecological surgery There is no surgical robot at Cosmic. Dr. Rahul Khatri performs robotic surgery at Apollo Hospital, Gandhinagar

On the robot, the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists’ position is that for non-cancerous gynaecological surgery robot-assisted operating gives results equivalent to conventional laparoscopy, at longer operating time and higher cost, with real advantages only in selected difficult cases. For most operations a woman from Kubernagar needs, standard laparoscopy here is the right answer.

What a visit costs

Consultation and scan charges are fixed and published. Laboratory tests, day-care procedures, surgery and IVF are quoted to you in writing before anything is done.

Consultation Fee On Wednesday
New case, general gynaecology Rs 500 First consultation free
New case, infertility Rs 1,000 First consultation free
Follow-up Rs 300 Charged as usual
Scan Fee
Pelvic (gynaecological) ultrasound Rs 1,200
Obstetric ultrasound Rs 1,200
Colour Doppler Rs 1,500

No clinic may advertise or guarantee a success rate for fertility treatment, and we do not quote one here. What a cycle is likely to achieve depends on age, diagnosis and ovarian reserve, and is discussed with you individually after the work-up, as the ART (Regulation) Act, 2021 requires.

What to bring

  • The date your last period started — the actual date.
  • Old reports of any age: scan films or CD, blood tests, discharge summaries, operation notes.
  • Your current medicine strips rather than a remembered list, including thyroid, diabetes and blood pressure tablets.
  • Photo ID, and your insurance or TPA card if admission or surgery may be discussed.
  • For delayed conception: your husband, at the same visit, and any earlier semen report.

Booking from Kubernagar

Telephone 77-9383-9383 or write to contact@cosmichospital.in. We are at 3rd Floor, The Capital Corporate, near Naroda Muktidham, Naroda, Ahmedabad 382330, along the Naroda road. Say which doctor you want to see when you telephone, and mention the first day of your last period — both decide the slot you are given.

More on the hospital as a whole is on our main page for a gynaecologist in Naroda, and the fertility unit specifically on our IVF centre in Naroda page. There are separate pages for women coming from Nikol and Bapunagar.
